Day 12 - Lonely Road

Updated: May 25

Driving snow crossing the Continental Divide and leaving behind the Rockies. Distances are long, habitation scant and gas stations few. Drive 100 miles and see no one, no cars, nothing but forest and snow.

Lunch at Teslin Lake, homemade potato and bacon soup and soda bread, deliciously warming in a heartless environment.

First totem poles and Tlingit long houses in Teslin. The first signs that speak to the spirit after soulless places I am driving through that serve only the physical needs of the extractive industries.
